Senior police officer confirms cops shot dead young man in Karachi
ISLAMABAD (MEDIA REPORT)
Top police official on Sunday confirmed that personnel of Anti-Car Lifting Cell of the Sindh Police allegedly shot dead a man in Defence Housing Authority’s Khayaban-e-Ittehad in wee hours.
DIG Crime Investigation Agency Saqib Ismail has confirmed the report.
The police had earlier maintained that the man, identified as Intezar Ahmed, was killed in firing by unidentified assailants on motorcycles.
However, later it was disclosed that the law enforcement authorities opened fire at Ahmed’s car after he failed to stop his vehicle despite their instructions, local media reported.
The CIA official, while speaking to media outside Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, said that the deceased’s father can register a case against the police officials.
