A PIA passenger aircraft PK-661 carrying forty people has lost its control with control tower on its way from Chitral to Islamabad near Havelian.

According to PIA Spokesperson, all resources are being mobilized to locate the aircraft.

PIA’s emergency response center has been activated and can be accessed at following phone numbers for updates: 0092-21-99044890, 0092-21-99044376 and 0092-21-99044394.

According to ISPR, Army troops and army helicopter have been moved to site Havelian.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of valuable lives in the unfortunate PIA ATR crash today.
Sympathising deeply with the loved ones of the passengers on the unfortunate flight, the Prime Minister said that the entire nation is deeply saddened over today’s unfortunate crash and share the grief of the families who lost their dear ones. The Prime Minister prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed souls with eternal peace and grant of courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

The Prime Minister directed the concerned departments to provide full emergency help and assistance to the family members on the whereabouts of the unfortunate passengers and keep him updated on the evolving situation on continuous basis.
